Cigarettes and smoking materials are not sold
at Munson Medical Center and smoking is strictly prohibited throughout
the hospital.
Fire Alarms and Drills
For your protection, the hospital conducts
fire and disaster drills regularly. If an alarm or drill occurs
while you are here, please remain in your room and do not become
alarmed. Please take direction from hospital staff when a fire
alarm is in progress. Elevators cannot be used, and walking through
smoke barrier doors is prohibited. The building is fire-resistant,
and the staff is trained in fire protection. In the event of a
true emergency, the patient care staff will direct you on what
to do.
Oxygen
Special regulations are in effect in areas
where patients are receiving oxygen. Electrically-operated equipment
and aerosol products are not permitted in these areas.
Medications
All medications taken while you are in the
hospital are prescribed by your physician and dispensed by a nurse.
Patients are not permitted to administer their own drugs or keep
personal medications at their bedsides.
On special occasions, patients will be asked
to bring medications from home:
To provide the physician with an accurate
accounting of the medications you are presently taking.
To provide the medication you take when
the hospital cannot get the same medication from their sources.
Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are available on all nursing units.
Please ask for help from a member of the hospital staff if needed
for getting in and out of them.
If you are a Munson Healthcare patient and have a compliment,
concern, or complaint, please contact one of our Patient
Liaisons.
