Mission To promote awareness of women’s health concerns in northern Michigan by funding and supporting programs that offer education, detection, prevention, and treatment of women’s health issues.
History The Women’s Health Classic golf event was started in 1997 by Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation and continued through 2004. More than $300,000 was raised for various women’s health issues that were not currently being met within our community. More than 54 grants were given to support many worthwhile organizations and programs serving thousands of women.
Even though there will not be another Women’s Health Classic in the near future, these unmet needs are greater than ever. Therefore, with the “same mission in mind” — Women Helping Women, a community of women, has formed in our area for the purpose of engaging women in the art of philanthropy through the Women’s Healthcare Giving Circle.
Our members will continue to serve the health care needs of women in our community. It's not too late to join! For membership information, call (231) 935-6482 or toll-free 1-866-927-6482.
