Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation and Paul Oliver Memorial Foundation have enjoyed long traditions of
generous support from the communities. Community
donations made possible the completion of three important projects
the Munson Manor Hospitality House, serving people from
out of town who have loved ones hospitalized at Munson; Munson
Hospice House, for those nearing the end of their life; the new Munson Emergency Department, which employs state-of-the-art technology in space designed to maximize patient care, safety, and comfort; and the Paul Oliver CT Scanner Project and Modernizations Projects. These projects
are having a profound effect on the lives of the people who need
those services.

Planned Giving and Charitable Gift Annuities
Bequests Most often, a bequest is made as part of a person’s will, stipulating that a dollar amount or percentage of an estate be directed to Munson Healthcare or Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital Foundation. Most bequests provide significant estate tax savings.
Charitable bequests can be made to the Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation or Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital Foundation as unrestricted gifts to be used in the area of greatest need, or with a very specific designation. Please call to discuss.
Many estates amassed through retirement planning today are made up in large part by IRAs, Keoghs, 401(k) plans, and profit-sharing plans. In many cases, substantial balances remain after the deaths of both the retiree and retiree’s spouse. When Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation or Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital Foundation is named as a beneficiary, income and estate taxes may be avoided.
Bequests can be made by preparing a new will or adding a codicil to your present will or living trust. All legal documents should be prepared by and with the advice of your attorney.
Gift Annuities To create a gift annuity, a donor gives either cash, stock, bonds, or other securities valued at $10,000 or more to our Foundations today, and then receives fixed income payments for life. Charitable gift annuity interest rates are determined by your age.
Some of the benefits of establishing a gift annuity are:
You have a guaranteed income for life, based on a competitive high rate of return.
A federal income tax deduction is available for a portion of your gift.
Part of each payment is free from federal income tax.
There are possible capital gains tax and estate tax savings.
You have the satisfaction of knowing that your generosity is helping to maintain quality health care in northern Michigan
