Munson Medical Center's Clinical Advancement System was developed in 1989 to keep the expert nurse at the bedside in his or her specialty area. The application process is based on the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice. The certified and/or advanced degree nurse who chooses to excel in accordance to these standards of care may advance. The advanced nurse receives financial rewards, professional achievement, and personal satisfaction.
In addition, nurses at Munson Medial Center have received national recognition for their excellent nursing practice. In 2006, Munson achieved Magnet status, placing it among only 3 percent of hospitals in the nation to receive the designation.
