Munson encourages clinical advancement for nurses through advanced degrees and specialty certification. Twenty-five percent of nurses at Munson are certified in specialty areas.
The application process for clinical advancement is based on the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice.
Nurses at Munson Medical Center have received national recognition for their excellent nursing practice. In 2006, Munson received the Magnet Award for Nursing Excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the highest honor bestowed in nursing. Only 5 percent of hospitals nationwide have achieved Magnet status.
