Family
& Friends
Visitors can be good medicine for patients. Family
members and friends are welcome to visit. However, patient care
is our primary concern at Mercy Hospital Cadillac and in order
to enhance the quality of care, specific visiting hours and regulations
have been established for each division and unit. Visiting hours
or regulations are available at the Information Desk on the main
floor. Please follow these guidelines. If you need additional
information, please check with the nurse on the unit.
Following are general guidelines for visitors:
- Smoking is not allowed in patient rooms
or anywhere in the hospital.
- Visitors must wear shirts and shoes.
- No more than two visitors are allowed at
the bedside at one time. Visitors in semi-private rooms should
be considerate of both patients.
- People with colds, sore throats, or any
contagious diseases should not visit patients.
- Visits should be kept short and should
maintain a quiet environment and avoid unnecessary noise.
- For privacy reasons, visitors may be asked
to leave the room during tests or treatments, or when the physician
or nurse needs to see the patient.
Liberal visiting arrangements may be made
for families of surgical patients on the day of surgery.
Chapel
The chapel is located on the first floor just west of the main
entrance. Visitors of all faiths are welcome to visit the chapel
for prayer and meditation.
Waiting Areas
There are designated lounge areas for visitors on each patient
floor and on the main floor in the lobby. Waiting areas have been
designated for families of patients in the Critical Care units,
the Emergency Department, Surgery, and Family Birth Center. During
certain hours, a volunteer hostess is on duty in the surgery waiting
room to keep family members informed about the progress of surgery.
Please assist us in keeping these areas clean.
