to remind women of the following guidelines to help detect or
prevent common illnesses or injuries. Your individual health needs
may require more or less frequent physician visits, so talk to
your health care providers to determine a schedule that is right
for you.
Women 19-35
Get a complete physical exam annually
Have your cholesterol checked every five years
Get a tetanus/diphtheria booster every 10 years
Establish a bone density baseline to detect future
bone loss due to osteoporosis
Women 36-49
Get a complete physical exam annually
Annual screening for high cholesterol will reduce
the risk of heart disease
Regular blood sugar testing will detect the onset
of Type-2 diabetes
Performing regular breast self-exams will help
detect cancer early
Have an annual bone density test to help detect
the onset of osteoporosis
Women 50 and over
Get a complete physical exam annually
Early detection of colorectal cancer through
annual screenings can make it 90% curable
Annual screening for high cholesterol helps identify
the risk of heart disease
Yearly mammograms help detect breast cancer early,
when it is most curable
