Munson Hospice and Palliative Care depends on generous
financial support from the community to provide compassionate
end-of-life care. Contributions allow us to continue to provide
care to patients and families during difficult and challenging
times regardless of financial ability. In addition, bereavement
services, including grief support groups and our children's art
therapy program, all depend on the generosity of community members.
Your contribution to Munson Hospice and Palliative
Care is tax deductible and may be eligible for a matching contribution
from your current or former employers. All gifts are acknowledged
promptly with a letter, and if designated, the family is notified
of your contribution in honor of their loved one.

Munson Hospice offers donors the following opportunities to support our programs and services.
Memorial or In Honor of Gifts
A gift in memory of a loved one is a special way to support Hospice.
It is often a thoughtful remembrance in place of funeral flowers.
Many people make annual contributions in memory of loved ones
or to commemorate a special occasion.
Special "in Honor of" gifts are a meaningful
way to observe someone's birthday, anniversary, or other special
occasion.
Annual Giving and Appeals
Spring Appeal Our spring appeal focuses on renewal and the promise of life after the harshness of winter. Gifts are focused toward the Munson Hospice House where each and every patient receives compassion, warmth, and safety regardless of their financial ability.
Love Light Appeal The Love Light Tree tradition was founded with Munson Hospice and Jane Leidich, a nurse with Munson Medical Center as a way to honor her mother’s memory during the holidays. The Love Light Tree ceremony is held the first Sunday in December at First Congregational Church in Traverse City. Contributions to the Love Light appeal support the work of Munson Hospice and Palliative Care including bereavement services and children’s Art Therapy.
Planned Giving and Charitable Gift Annuities
Planned gifts to Munson Hospice ensure that future generations will benefit
from the compassion and end-of-life care throughout northwest Michigan.
Bequests are gifts made through wills
or living trusts. Gifts can be of a particular item, dollar
amount, or percentage of your estate.
Charitable Gift Annuities are an attractive way to support the mission of Munson Hospice and receive annuity income for life. Benefits include an immediate tax deduction on a portion of the gift plus, a guaranteed income — also partially tax-free. Gift Annuities are typically funded with cash or securities and can reduce capital gain income.
Gifts of Stock or Real Property are one
of the most mutually beneficial and easiest ways to give to
Hospice. Because Munson Hospice and Palliative Care is a not-for-profit
organization, gifts of stock or property received are eligible
for a tax deduction for the full market value on the date of
the gift. Also, the donor avoids paying capital gains on the
stock or real estate's increased value. Please consult your
attorney or financial advisor about gifts of stock or property.
Life Insurance policies can also make
a significant contribution. You may contribute a policy no longer
needed, or name Munson Hospice and Palliative Care the primary
or secondary beneficiary of an existing policy. The tax savings
is excellent. Your attorney can assist you with this.
A financial investment in Munson Hospice and Palliative
Care is an opportunity to ensure that end-of-life support for
patients and families will be available to all in need. For more
