Inpatient Care

Munson Medical Center has a state-of-the-art cancer care unit offering 21 inpatient beds. The unit’s care team is staffed with dedicated health care providers certified and educated in cancer nursing, nutrition, social work, and other aspects of cancer care.

Integrative Medicine, combining traditional and alternative medicine, is also used during inpatient cancer treatment to promote physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing. Cancer patients are offered massage, yoga, therapeutic touch, art therapy, stress management, musical care, and spiritual guidance to complement their treatment.

The cancer care team works closely with the patient and family throughout treatment, involving them in decisions that must be made along the way. With an approach to quality care, special emphasis is placed on caregiving, teaching, and treatment. A pharmacy is located within the unit and is staffed by a pharmacist with expertise in the treatment of cancer.
