Stress and Heart Disease: How to Reduce Your Risk
Cardiac rehabilitation exercise specialist outlines ways to cope
Stress can cause a heart to fail, and it is also true that heart-related diagnoses can create stress in both the patient and caregiver.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Specialist Beth Dole will outline ways to control and cope with stress as it relates to heart disease in a lecture from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, at Munson Community Health Center, Conference Room A.
Dole will share information that includes: * How stress impacts health * How stress is a factor in heart disease * Stress influences on daily exercise and activities * The relaxation response * Stress reduction techniques * Caregiver guide for stress reduction
Many classes are available live at community hospitals throughout northern Michigan via the REMEC TeleHealth Network. Residents should call their local hospital for availability. Persons wishing to attend via interactive television must register prior to the event by calling Munson at 1-800-468-6766.
There is no cost for the lecture, however preregistration is requested by calling (231) 935-8565.
